Session Management
Type: Secure Session Cookie
This is our primary authentication cookie. It stores your encrypted Firebase session token.
- Why: To keep you logged in securely as you navigate different pages.
- Security: It is "HttpOnly," meaning it cannot be read by JavaScript, protecting you from session theft.
Identity Syncing
Type: Verification Sync
Used during the email verification process to recognize your device.
Stored in localStorage.
Instant Profile Loading
Type: User Data Cache
Caches a copy of your profile info to make the UI load instantly without flickering.
Stored in localStorage.
Scroll Persistence
Type: Navigation State
Remembers your scroll position on the home feed so you don't lose your place when hitting "Back."
Stored in sessionStorage.
Search Caching
Type: Search Results Cache
Temporarily stores search results to make searching faster and more responsive.
Stored in sessionStorage.
External Links & Embeds
Gloombook may show previews of links or allow you to embed external content (like YouTube videos). When you interact with these embeds, those third-party sites may set their own cookies.
